Information provided under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data.
Institutional approval required. The text below is a draft prepared according to how this project website operates. Before publication it must be reviewed and approved by the Data Protection / Legal Counsel unit of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.
1. Data controller
Under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”), your personal data are processed by Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University as data controller, within the scope of project no. 324K299 supported by the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 programme, as explained below.

2. Personal data processed
No personal data are collected through forms on this website. The data that may be processed during your visit are:
- Transaction security data: IP address, browser and operating system information, date and time of visit and pages viewed, kept in server logs.
- Cookie data: only the strictly necessary cookie required for the site to function (see section 6).
- Contact data: your name, e-mail address and message content if you choose to write to the e-mail address published on the site.
The names, titles, institutions and photographs of project team members are published with their consent and within the scope of information already publicly available in institutional academic information systems (AVESİS).
3. Purposes of processing
- Providing the website securely and resolving technical issues
- Sharing the project’s activities, outputs and academic publications with the public
- Responding to questions and requests sent to the project team
- Fulfilling reporting and dissemination obligations towards TÜBİTAK
4. Legal basis
Your personal data are processed wholly or partly by automated means on the legal grounds set out in Article 5 of the KVKK: “processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation of the data controller”, “processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject are not harmed” and, where required, “explicit consent”.
5. Transfer of personal data
Your personal data may be transferred only to legally authorised public institutions (TÜBİTAK, judicial and administrative authorities) and to the hosting provider of the website, to the extent required by the service. Your personal data are not shared with third parties for commercial purposes and are not transferred abroad.
6. Cookie policy
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser by the websites you visit. Only the following cookie is used on this site:

No advertising, marketing, profiling or third-party analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) are used. Should an analytics tool be added in future, this text will be updated and your explicit consent will be obtained.

7. Retention period
Server logs are retained for the period stipulated in the relevant legislation, and data sent by e-mail are retained for a reasonable period after the request is concluded, after which they are deleted, destroyed or anonymised.
8. Rights of the data subject
Under Article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to: learn whether your personal data are processed; request information if they have been processed; learn the purpose of processing and whether they are used in accordance with that purpose; know the third parties to whom they are transferred in Türkiye or abroad; request rectification if processed incompletely or inaccurately; request erasure or destruction; request that such actions be notified to third parties to whom the data were transferred; object to an adverse outcome arising from analysis exclusively by automated systems; and claim compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing.
You may submit your requests to saygun@comu.edu.tr or through the official application channels of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. Your application will be concluded within 30 days at the latest.

This text may be revised in line with changes in legislation or updates to the site. The current version is always published on this page.
